LOGISTICS OF THE EMSLAND GROUP – MOVING FORWARD

In the context of a complete integration of the entire internal and external value chain we have optimally coordinated all the important logistical tasks together (procurement, production, sales, distribution and transportation).

We take on complex logistical tasks and find effective, innovative and ecologically optimized solutions. The logistics department of the Emsland Group handles the warehousing, order picking, co-packing and transportation of our high-quality products worldwide. By doing so, the logistics department of the Emsland Group rounds off the potential performance of our company in terms of flexibility, reliability and innovation.

Cross-plant logistical challenges are managed and directed from the corporate headquarters in Emlichheim.

“The situation on the transport market has eased considerably compared to previous years.
During the past few years, due to several crises, many companies built up large stocks out of uncertainty —  further exacerbating the bottlenecks on the transport market. However, when the situation eased these stocks were reduced, leading to adequate capacities. Although there is a sharp rise in diesel price, which is reflected in our costs, there are currently hardly any capacity problems. In general, there is a clear improvement in both sea and road transport.
However, the situation on the transport market can quickly change, as we experienced at the end of 2023 when cargo ships around the Red Sea began to be attacked. As a result, those passages had to be rerouted, which results in additional cost adjustments.
We hope that the latest challenges in the transport market can be overcome and that “normal” transport routes can be operated again soon.”
