As Germany’s largest potato starch processor, we bear a lot of responsibility in the agricultural value chain. With a comprehensive and holistically conceived strategy for the procurement of raw materials, we are setting the course to be able to offer starch-based products for the long-term in an environmentally friendly way.
LOGISTICS OF THE EMSLAND GROUP – MOVING FORWARD
In the context of a complete integration of the entire internal and external value chain we have optimally coordinated all the important logistical tasks together (procurement, production, sales, distribution and transportation).
We take on complex logistical tasks and find effective, innovative and ecologically optimized solutions. The logistics department of the Emsland Group handles the warehousing, order picking, co-packing and transportation of our high-quality products worldwide. By doing so, the logistics department of the Emsland Group rounds off the potential performance of our company in terms of flexibility, reliability and innovation.
Cross-plant logistical challenges are managed and directed from the corporate headquarters in Emlichheim.
“The situation in the transport market remains difficult.
There continues to be a shortage of drivers in the European transportation market, which has caused a decrease in transport capacity. In addition to this, there have been very sharp increases in diesel costs.
This tight situation has led to significant increases in transportation costs.
Despite the difficult situation, we still strive to deliver our goods to the customer on time.
We also continue to face major challenges in regard to ocean freight. The current situation at many seaports (above all Hamburg) is causing permanent delays and the intermediate storage of containers. This inevitably leads to increased transportation costs. However, we have seen some positive signals in the market lately, so we can expect that the reliability of shipping companies should improve in the coming months.
If there are no new market disruptions, then there is reasonable hope that we can expect a properly functioning supply chain in 2023.”
WE KEEP OURSELVES IN CHECK: WE ARE THE MOST RELIABLE STARCH PRODUCER.
