Science-Based Targets Validated
Emsland Group’s emissions reduction targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
The Emsland Group has reached an important milestone: The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has officially validated the company’s science-based emissions reduction targets. The validated targets include a 50.4% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions and a 30% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2030, using 2018 as the base year. Looking further ahead, Emsland Group has committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2045, including a 90% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 90% reduction in relevant Scope 3 emissions compared with the 2018 base year.

This independent validation confirms that our climate targets are aligned with the latest climate science and support the global ambition of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
