Employees Donate €2,000 to Support Local Children’s Group Home

Once again this year, employees of the Emsland Group demonstrated their strong commitment to giving back to the local community. Following last year’s successful initiative to organize Christmas presents for residents at Eylarduswerk, an organization providing supported housing for children, our employees chose to support another organization dedicated to helping local children in need.

This year’s donation went to Pädagogische Dienste GmbH, which operates a local group home for children with traumatic backgrounds and provides them with a safe, supportive environment.

To raise funds, apprentices at the Emlichheim site baked fresh waffles for their colleagues throughout the Advent season, inviting donations in return. In addition, the apprentices collected donations by visiting offices and departments across the site. Thanks to the commitment of the apprentices and the impressive participation and generosity of employees — along with additional contributions from our Works Council and Executive Management — the initiative raised a total of €2,000.

Representatives of the children’s home, Lea Faske and Hjördis Weggebakker, visited the Emsland Group headquarters in Emlichheim to personally receive the donation. The check was presented by the initiators and organizers of the holiday donation campaign, Pia Jörissen and Alicia Vennegeerts, from the Emsland Group Marketing and Communications department.

We are delighted by the overwhelming response from our colleagues. The high level of participation and generosity shows how strongly our employees stand behind initiatives that support children and young people in our region. This donation will help improve the daily lives of local children and teenagers — and hopefully bring a little extra cheer during the holiday season!
