Having already held a Health Day in Emlichheim in mid-July, the second one this year took place at the Hagenow location at the end of the same month. With lots of health-related activities as well as a smoothie bike on site, there was plenty to keep the many participants going.
The Emsland Group offered a packed agenda of three different events on this historically hot day – while nearby Lingen set a new record for Germany with its recorded temperature of 42.6°C. Everything got started in the morning with the annual Health Day, led by Ms. Katrin Neumann, head of occupational health and safety.
The Snackex Show in Barcelona was once again a magnet for visitors this year with more than 2,000 professionals and 160 exhibiting companies attending from all over the world. The Emsland Group’s appearance at the Snackex Show was a successful one, not the least due to the high trade show attendance.
The Emsland Group has now provided the elementary school in Emlichheim with 25 used computers. The eleven students who joyfully accepted the computers were accompanied by Mr. Ansgar Duling from the Samtgemeinde Emlichheim (joint community of Emlichheim) and Mr. Ralf Oertlinger, who is the principal of the elementary school.

Nestlé Deutschland AG conferred its Supplier Award for the fourth time. The award is presented to exemplary suppliers who, on the basis of core criteria such as innovation, service and cooperation as well as sustainability and flexibility, stand for an extraordinarily successful partnership.
The construction of the new flake factory at the production site in Hagenow is now making quick, on-schedule progress. The last two of four drum dryers (Yankee Drums) have been installed in CW 21. The Emsland Group once again underlines its leading position in the potato flakes sector and thus also in the snack sector worldwide as a result.
With the second cross-plant IMS meeting, the Emsland Group once again highlighted the necessity of a group-wide integrated management system (IMS). The approximately 30 participants from all of the Group’s plants met in Hagenow for the two-day workshop which went from May 21-23, 2019.
As part of the European elections, the municipalities of Dinkelland (Netherlands) and Nordhorn (Germany) held a festive gathering on Saturday afternoon. Together with the cross-border club known as JCI WJ Noabers, a soccer match was also organized – and the Emsland Group had a team in the running.
The Emsland Group will once again be represented at this year’s IFT Expo in the USA. With an open and informative stand concept, the Group will be presenting itself to visitors from June 3-5 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
Asian markets continue to be among the fastest-growing in the world. For the Emsland Group, the region is also one of the strongest for sales and has major customers that have been buying quality products from Emsland for many years.
The groundbreaking ceremony held on Nov. 8, 2018 marked the expansion and modernization of production capacities at the Emsland Group’s Hagenow production site. With around €25 million to be invested in total, four more state-of-the-art, new-generation roller dryers and an additional processing capacity of 120,000 t potatoes per year are to be installed.
