Derived from the German term &#8220;<strong>R<\/strong>eaktionsbeh\u00e4lter<strong> Oxy<\/strong>dation,&#8221; ROxy represents a significant milestone in the company&#8217;s journey. With an investment of around 15 million euros, this facility is poised to transform the company\u2019s production of modified starches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-747d402385ae0a3224110fc9525b7ca5\" style=\"color:#4e4e4e\">The engineering of ROxy is done entirely in-house, showcasing the Emsland Group&#8217;s expertise and their ability to integrate local companies and suppliers into their processes. By utilizing waste heat from nearby plants, ROxy eliminates the need for heat from primary energy sources, significantly reducing its carbon footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1ba3b51541c2ef4603ba6a1944c798c0\" style=\"color:#4e4e4e\"><strong>Meeting Market Demands with Specialty Starches<\/strong><br>The driver of the project is clear: to better meet customer and market demands. The food and technical specialties industries are evolving, with a growing need for specialty starches that offer unique properties and benefits. With the new ROxy facility, the Emsland Group will be well equipped to produce these high-demand specialty starches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-b4a4907e90bcd81dffa2a8f8ae8f8203\" style=\"color:#4e4e4e\">Currently, only a select few ingredient providers possess the expertise and capability to produce this special type of modified starch. The Emsland Group not only has the know-how but, with the completion of ROxy, will also have the production capacity to meet this demand on a significant scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-714651faa3f916a57a9ceaa54beafa50\" style=\"color:#4e4e4e\"><strong>Processing Power: An Impressive Scale<\/strong><br>The amount of potatoes that ROxy will be able to process is equivalent to the area of approximately 9,500 soccer fields, or about 1.37 times the size of the municipality of Emlichheim. This massive processing power underscores the Emsland Group&#8217;s commitment to scaling their operations to meet market needs while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-57722d800e8fe9da68d3c7f3c5e6a605\" style=\"color:#4e4e4e\"><strong>Timeline and Future Outlook<\/strong><br>Construction of the ROxy facility is set for the end of summer 2025, with production expected to commence in 2026. The production optimization does not end with the completion of ROxy, however. As part of Emvision, there are many additional projects lined up to ensure production capacity growth. Once Emvision is completed in 2030, we will reach our desired production capacity potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1edf23275725d1e4ecb295ffd3eb34e9\" style=\"color:#4e4e4e\">Emvision 2030 is more than just a plan; it is a vision for the future of starch modification.
