Size and capacity set new standards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The impressive, fully automated logistics hall will be built on an area 200 meters long, 70 meters wide and 27 meters high. With a capacity of 52,000 pallet spaces, the new hall not only ensures safe and quality-assured storage, but also sets new standards in terms of efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The logistics hall will also be equipped with a 600-metre-long conveyor belt, a 650-metre-long electric floor conveyor and six dispatch lanes. A total of 3,500 tons of steel will be used for the racking systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Focus on sustainability<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The project brings considerable benefits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n These measures underline the Emsland Group’s commitment to sustainable logistics solutions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n Infrastructure and construction time<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition to the logistics hall, the infrastructure is also being modernized. A new road will be built through Emlichheim and will provide optimal access to the planned employee parking spaces as well as truck and supplier parking spaces. A bridge will also connect the old warehouse with the new one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The construction period is tightly scheduled: Construction started at the beginning of January 2025 and the building should be completed by September 2025. The interior work will then begin with work on the racking systems and conveyor technology. Commissioning is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ground-breaking ceremony<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Numerous representatives of the Emsland Group and the region attended the ground-breaking ceremony. Among the guests were Herbert Zwartscholten (Head of Logistics), Arne G\u00f6vert (Head of Industrial Engineering and Overall Project Management), Gerhard Deuling (Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Emsland-St\u00e4rke AG), Hermann Vortherms (Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Emsland-St\u00e4rke GmbH), Lambert Vette (1st Chairman EZG), Dirk Oevermann (Commercial Director EZG), the management of the Emsland Group: Gerrit-Jan Wesselink (CEO), Christian Kemper (CSO) and Stefan Hannemann (COO) as well as Mayor Arne Helweg and joint municipal councillor Mirko Breukelman were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After a brief introduction by project managers Arne G\u00f6vert and Herbert Zwartscholten, the official ground-breaking ceremony took place. Afterwards, a get-together provided an opportunity for a lively exchange between all those involved.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n Investment in the future<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n With an investment of 38 million euros, the Emsland Group is not only securing the location and improving working conditions, but is also sending out a clear signal for sustainable and efficient logistics.
