Over 100 different participants and agencies from around 45 countries traveled to the main plant in Emlichheim, Germany. From June 12 to June 14, 2018, the Emsland Group held its seventh international symposium.
As part of the annual “Future-Day,” the Emsland Group once again got involved in supporting vocational training for young people. Case in point: At the Emlichheim location, over thirty students were given an initial idea of what’s it like to have both a calling and a profession.
The Employee Suggestion Scheme has been an integral part of our corporate culture for many years. During this time, the Emsland Group employees have contributed many interesting suggestions about how to optimize operations.
For years, the group-wide integrated management system (IMS) has made a valuable contribution towards safeguarding the Emsland Group business processes. The result is the efficient consolidation of the departments of Quality Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Management and Energy Management.
Many companies complain about a shortage of skilled workers. Emsland-Stärke in Emlichheim is trying to counteract this. This includes free taxi rides for the chemical technician apprentices to their vocational school.
After holding a vote for the new works council last Thursday and Friday (March 15 & 16), the results of the employee survey regarding the five-shift system and the election of the works council chairman were presented as part of the general meeting.
During the roadshows, the Emsland Group management visited the Wietzendorf, Wittingen, Hagenow, Kyritz and Golßen plants in February. The roadshow was preceded by the Annual Meeting of the Emsland-Stärke AG holding company in Meppen on January 25, 2018.
