Even though this year’s Food Ingredients Show was overshadowed by the November 13, 2015 attack, most of the visitors and exhibitors were unfazed by the events in Paris. Just as in the past years, the trade show was used to present the visitors with new product highlights and impressive demonstrations.
The Emsland Group exhibited itself in a very open, clear and clean 185 m2 booth. This year’s slogan “Clear and Clean Up Your Labels” was consistently communicated and generated great interest among those in attendance.

The complete staff of the Emsland Group is speechless about the recent occurrences in Paris last weekend. We as group of companies are shocked by such an act of violence and the human abysses behind it. We express our deep sympathy to the families, friends and relatives of the victims! After audits lasting several days at the two Emsland Food plants in Cloppenburg and Wittingen, the AIB certification according to international standards was once again successfully completed. AIB International helps the food industry to protect the safety of the food supply chain and to provide high-quality technical and educational programs.
The Gulfood exhibition in Dubai is one of the most important and most influential exhibitions in the Middle East. In addition to the exhibition appearance in February, the Emsland Group is also taking advantage of the opportunity to contribute as an exhibitor to the Gulfood Manufacturing exhibition, which is specially tailored to the supplier industry.
In first large-scale investigations the Port of Hamburg prepares harbor sediments with starch-based, biodegradable flocculating agents. The successfully used cationic potato starch from Emsland Group has been evaluated as technically equal and ecologically clearly superior. Benefits for the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA): The organic-based flocculating agent replaces synthetic polymers based on acrylamide, which are very difficult to break down biologically.
The Emsland Group has achieved a top position in the Best Supplier and Best Improver category at the so-called Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) this year. In the evaluation of this year's CDP climate change reporting, the Emsland Group came away with excellent results and was able to significantly improve over the previous year.
Due to the growing use of palm oil which contributes to the clearing of tropical forests, the WWF launched the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) in 2004. The members are involved in the production of palm oil or affected by it in various ways: palm oil growers, traders, consumer goods manufacturers, banks and non-governmental organizations such as the WWF and Oxfam.
The world is coming to Emlichheim. The Emsland Group has once again invited guests from all over the world to attend the so-called 'Food Meeting'. On April 28 - 29, 2015, the representatives of Emsland Group's worldwide subsidiaries and agencies where presented the latest product innovations live. The combination of practical workshops and theoretical presentations allow participants to gain deep insight into the research and development work on location. The lively exchange of market information and application possibilities is thereby strongly encouraged.
The Emsland Group has been awarded with a valuable supplier award by one of its most important customers, Nestlé Deutschland AG. The Emsland Group was among the top 20 of 1,500 preferred suppliers in Germany in this year's Nestlé Germany Supplier Awards.

We are working quite intensively in the field of environmental technologies in preserving resources of wastewater treatment, sewage sludge processing as well as slurry- and digestate treatment.

(15.01.2015) The new management board held a press conference to officially announce the staff changes at Emsland-Stärke GmbH. Mr. Udo Hinkelmann presented himself to the regional press representatives and the NDR as the new chairman of Beteiligungsgesellschaft Emsland-Stärke AG and managing director of Emsland-Starke GmbH and its subsidiaries. In addition, Mr. Gerrit-Jan Wesselink, previously responsible for the management of raw material procurement at the Emsland Group, was appointed as a new member of the management board.
