New investments, such as a new GIG evaporation plant, follow.

Merging of the affiliated companies Golßener Stärkefabrik GmbH, Kyritzer Stärke GmbH and Nordstärke GmbH under the parent company Emsland-Stärke GmbH in 1997.

In order to be able to maintain a leading role in international competition, along with substantial investments the first foreign cooperations are founded.

Effective 01.04.2000 Emsland-Stärke took over  the production and marketing of potato flakes and granulates for the Industrial Customers area of CPC Bestfoods Deutschland, resulting in the founding of the new Emsland Food.

With this acquisition, Emsland-Stärke expanded its broad range of products. In future, Emsland-Stärke, as the only supplier of the three products potato starch, potato flakes and potato granulate will be able to comply still better with customer wishes than previously.

In the other application areas of the starch industry also, the company develops a continuous optimisation. Thus, Emsland-Stärke is awarded the textile prize for the best products and the best service for the year 2000. With increasing quality and hygienic demands, in 2001 Emsland-Stärke introduces quality and hygiene management.

In the following years, with the founding of representations in Asia, South America, the USA and Turkey, Emsland-Stärke builds up a global marketing network.

The stock and flow of goods is coordinated by the Emsland-Stärke Logistics GmbH & Co. KG, a 100% subsidiary of Emsland-Stärke.

Besides the raw product potato, in 2004 the processing of peas begins in Emlichheim, enabling Emsland-Stärke to introduce a second commercial pillar and expands its range of products to include pea starch and also the by-products pea proteins and pea isolates. In the following years, the production of pea-based foodstuffs also begins.

2004 is a record harvest year, yielding 1.7 million tonnes of potatoes with a mean starch content of 18.4%. In addition Emsland-Stärke is accorded matrix certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.

Since 2005 Emsland-Stärke has been successfully managed by its directors, Mr. Hubert Eilting and Mr. Michael Schonert, whereupon Emsland Stärke has created the new logo Emsland Group with the company philosophy of "using nature to create" as a slogan. On the strength of the globally expanding marketing network and the increasing number of representatives, Emsland-Stärke GmbH has been consolidated to the Emsland Group.
